Kristen Stewart to star opposite Ben Affleck in Focus
Grifting flick from Crazy Stupid Love writer/directors
Kristen Stewart is in talks to join Ben Affleck in Focus , the latest effort from Crazy Stupid Love directors Glenn Ficara and John Requa.
Affleck is in place to play a practiced con artist, with Stewart eyeing the role of his young partner (a business relationship that ends up going down the romantic route).
With his star never higher after the critical and box-office success of Argo , Affleck will take the acting gig before deciding on his next directing project.
If Stewart does sign on, it’ll mark her first major role post- Twilight , and it seems to offer up a nice mixture of indie-cred and crowdpleasing cool.
Because frankly, who doesn’t like a good grifting flick? And Ficara and Requa proved that they could revamp screen romance with Crazy Stupid Love .
Apparently Crazy... stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone were originally being looked at to star, but that didn't come to fruition for unknown reasons. Ficara and Requa are directing from their own script.
