Konami in PS3 doubts, Metal Gear 4 for 360?
"We would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps," says Konami boss
Rumors of the highly anticipated PS3-exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4 being released for Xbox 360 have been rife for a while now, but it could be more likely that most think.
Konami boss Kazumi Kitaue has said the company may have to consider a multiplatform release for the game.
The comment on MGS 4's future came during an interview on the recent price drop of PS3, Kitaue expressing doubts that the cut will make a major difference in the sales situation for the console.
"I don't expect a substantial impact ... With $500, you can buy a personal computer," he told Reuters.
Off the back of this, Kitaue explained that huge development costs may force Konami to consider releasing MGS 4 on other consoles to increase the available user base and along with that, its return on game sales.
"Since Metal Gear Solid was born for the PlayStation, we would like to keep it a PlayStation game. But we might have to take some steps," he reveals.
360 owners, keep those fingers crossed.
