Kingdoms of Amalur trailer shows off a world worth saving
Hear how the developers didn't recreate reality
The world of Amalur in Kingdoms of Amalur is based on a line from author R.A. Salvatore's, in which he says "When you ask someone to save the world," explains R.A. Salvatore, "you want to give them a world worth saving." It's with this motto that 38 Studios and Big Huge Games crafted Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning's Amalur, a wholly unique fantasy world that looks much different than your typical land of swords and sorcery.
Beyond having its own lore and story, it also has... colors! That's right, you're not stumbling into the greens and greys of The Elder Scrolls or the browns and greys of Dragon Age - Amalur is colorful, and the world is bright colors, vivid neons, and a visual style that looks much different than any of the other open-world RPGs to come out lately. To find out more about the world check out the newly-released video, above, in which the developers show off some art for the game to explain why they went with the unorthodox (and somewhat World of Warcraft-like) world they eventually ended up settling on.
