Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning trailer explains how to properly kick ass
Combos, magic and more explained in visceral new video
Maybe you're currently getting your fill of fantasy while playing a seemingly unending title like Skyrim, but odds are you'll be done with it early next year. And fortunately for those that still want more Orcs and wizards, that's when Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning comes out. Other than having World Series pitcher Curt Schilling behind the scenes, what else gives Amalur an edge against Elder Scrolls? This new trailer shows you that the combat in Reckoning is something you'll never see in Skyrim.
With intense combos that would look more natural in God of War than most RPGs, the brutal action looks pretty good. With multiple options for ranged, stealth, heavy, and magic attacks, it seems way more involved than the simple process of counting the HP you're shaving off a foe. Though we aren't sure just how all these pieces are going to add up, at least it looks like there's some competition in the world of M-rated fantasy titles. Amalur hits US stores February 7, and Europe February 10.
