Kiefer Sutherland wants a 24 movie
But it won’t be 24 hours long...
Kiefer Sutherland’s not much like his alter-ego, Jack Bauer. For one thing, he doesn’t whisper every word that isn’t DAMMIT! (which he shouts). For another, he allows himself to get enthusiastic about the occasional event. And what’s really rockin’ Kief’s world at the moment is the idea of a 24 movie.
“It's something that we really, really want to make. The real key difference would be that the 24 hour film would be a 2 hour representation of a 24 hour day. It would be the first thing that we didn't do in real time,” said Sutherland, speaking to Crave Online .
“Just to have that kind of time to really allow our cinematographer and our director and the writers to focus on such a finite thing,” he continued. “And actually be able to do a film that really has a conclusion, I think would be really exciting not only for us to make but I think for an audience as well.”
But with show creator Robert Cochran telling CNN’s Larry King Live last night that a movie’s most likely to be filmed towards the end of the series, this means that according to Sutherland’s current contract, the film wouldn’t arrive until 2009 at the earliest, around the time of season 8.
Poor Sutherland – a day’s a really long time in his life – imagine what two years will be like!
