Kiefer Sutherland: 24 movie script nearly ready
“We were trying to make it too big”
Who would want to be a writer on the 24 movie? Picture the scene: Kiefer Sutherland comes in, talking all nice and calmly before screaming “TELL ME WHERE THE SCRIPT IS” and waterboarding you using the office watercooler.
Perhaps we're letting our imagination run away with us. Or confusing Sutherland the actor with his gruff onscreen counterpart Jack Bauer (it would probably help separate the two if US TV channel TMZ stopped showing Sutherland jumping into a Christmas tree ).
Still, the clock is ticking and there's no shoot scheduled for a 24 movie yet.
“We are coming very close to having a finished script. That’s been the most difficult thing. You have to remember that we have 24 hours to explain the stories in 24 and so trying to condense that into a two-hour film version has been a real shift in gear for us,” Sutherland told The Telegraph .
“We were originally trying to make it too big and put too much into it - but once we relaxed, we found out how to tell that story. So yes we definitely do plan on making the film.”
