Keira Knightley could be new Anna Karenina
She’s under consideration
Keira Knightley could be about to don yet another corset as the lead in a new adaptation of Anna Karenina .
This is according to the Daily Mail, though, so you may want to take that with a generous side of salt.
The tabloid reveals that director Joe Wright is considering Knightley for his adap of Leo Tolstoy’s famous Russian novel, having worked with her previously on Pride And Prejudice and Atonement .
Karenina follows the titular woman, who has an affair with an aristocrat. It has already been adapted over 10 times, including a 1997 version directed by Bernard Rose and starring Sophie Marceau and Sean Bean.
Though Knightley has done her fair share of historical romps, we’d be excited to see her work with Wright again. The occasions that the duo have paired up for a film have resulted in some of the actress’ best work.
Knightley's next film, London Boulevard , is out this Friday.
