Kate Winslet close to joining Steve Jobs biopic?
The casting merry-go-round for Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic continues to spin apace, with Kate Winslet the latest big name to be linked to the project.
According to Variety, Winslet is currently in negotiations with the studio to take the film’s female lead, although the report doesn’t clarify exactly who she’ll be playing.
Natalie Portman and Jessica Chastain had previously been attached to the role of Jobs’ daughter, although given that Winslet is older than Michael Fassbender (the man taking the title role), perhaps she is in talks to play somebody else.
One alternative could be Joanna Hoffman, head of marketing at Macintosh and one of the original Apple Mac development team, somebody writer Aaron Sorkin has described as “a fantastic character”.
Directed by Boyle and co-starring Seth Rogen and Jeff Daniels, the film has yet to receive an official release date, but is expected to arrive in early 2016.
