K9 And Show's Creators Confirmed For The Weekender

Bob Baker, Paul Tams and the Doctor's canine companion will be joining in the fun

We really are spoiling you - as the Weekender draws ever nearer, we've bagged yet another trio of guests guaranteed to make the galaxy's greatest sci-fi funfair even more special, especially for Doctor Who fans with a penchant for a certain metallic mutt...

That's right folks, K9 will be heading to Camber Sands, accompanied by two men who have been crucial in the development of the chrome canine, Bob Baker and Paul Tams.

Scriptwriter for many years of classic Who, Bob Baker can lay claim to bringing K9 to life alongside his collaborator, the late Dave Martin, in the 1977 episode The Invisible Enemy . Working for many years on Doctor Who , with episodes including The Three Doctors, The Mutants and The Invisible Enemy, Baker went on to find huge success scripting the Wallace And Gromit films The Wrong Trousers, A Close Shave, The Curse of The Were-Rabbit and A Matter of Loaf and Death .

Paul Tams' career as an illustrator began on Terry Nation's Dalek annual, and he worked for the BBC, ITV, Rank Films and Sky TV amongst others. Aside from illustrating several Doctor Who books and designing movie posters, he has worked alongside Baker since 1997 to create the revamped K9 television series, which was aired last year.
