Justice League Dark closes in on a director
Though the world will move on following Guillermo Del Toro's departure from Warner Bros' Justice League Dark movie, it doesn't mean the sting has left. To soothe the blight, the folks at JoBlo have dropped a new report concerning the next incumbent for the director's chair.
According to the site's sources, the studio is pleased with del Toro's script and plans to push forward with locating his replacement sharpish. Fede Alvarez, helmer of the 2013 Evil Dead re-sequel, and Big Bad Wolves directors Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado are the "top contenders" in Warner's crosshairs. Their most recognisable works err on the side of cult favorites, which bodes well should either party sign on to direct. Justice League Dark revolves around the more sinister, supernatural cases that the regular Justice League are frankly too lame to take on.
On the casting side of things, the site reaffirms earlier reports Colin Farrell for the headlining role of hardcore chain-smoking ass-kicker John Constantine. Likewise, Ewan McGregor is eyed for Jason Blood/The Demon, Ben Mendelsohn As Anton Arcane, Monica Bellucci as Madame Xanadu and a remnant from del Toro's demands: Ron Perlman as Swamp Thing.
