According to Entertainment Weekly, Superman's dad Jor-EL will be making an appearance in the flesh in season nine of Smallville, but he won't be played by the guy who's been voicing him on the show in the past, Terrence Stamp.
Instead he'll be played by that cured slice of prime ham Julian (Warlock/24) Sands. Apparently Sands will be playing a young Jor-El (young? Sands is 51!) who has secretly travelled to Earth with Zod and the other Kandorians. All sounds a bit convoluted to us. Sands is currently contracted to appear in one episode in November. Presumably he got the part because because he sounds posh and British like Stamp... Hey, they could have got Prince Edward.
