Juan Carlos Fresnadillo exits The Crow
Scheduling conflict for Highlander director?
Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has pulled out of the upcoming reboot of The Crow , according to reports.
Spanish director Fresnadillo ( 28 Weeks Later , Intruders ) will also be helming the Highlander reboot and it is possible that scheduling conflicts between the two productions caused him to depart The Crow .
Blade’s Stephen Norrington was originally supposed to direct The Crow remake but the project was left floundering in October 2010 when he unexpectedly departed. The film was supposed to be in production by now.
Highlander was only put back on track earlier this year when the RCR Media Group pitched in to help Summit Entertainment finance the film. That production is slated to begin spring of 2012.
Based on the 1989 comic-book miniseries by James O’Barr, The Crow was originally turned into a 1994 film starring Brandon Lee, who tragically died on set after a mix-up with firearms.
