Josh Brolin circling Jurassic World
Star in early talks with Universal
Jurassic World might be about to land itself a leading man, with Variety reporting that Josh Brolin is in early talks with Universal over the project.
No character details are divulged in the report, but we’d assume Brolin would be playing the buttoned-down pragmatist of the piece, in a riff on the Sam Neill role in the original.
Should talks prove fruitful, Brolin would join Bryce Dallas Howard and Nick Robinson, both of whom are said to be in discussions with the studio, and Ty Simpkins, the only confirmed cast member to date.
New Girl star Jake Johnson has also been heavily linked to the project, with director Colin Trevorrow thought to be attempting to recreate the ensemble vibe that served the original film so well.
With the plot set to document a return to Isla Nublar (that’s pretty much all we know about the story at this stage), Jurassic World will open in the US on 12 June 2015, with a UK date to be confirmed.
