Joseph Gordon-Levitt confirms he is in talks over Ant-Man
Final choice thought to be between JGL and Paul Rudd
Recently we heard reports that Edgar Wright's Ant-Man adaptation was torn between Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd for the title role, with Marvel set to meet with both actors again over the coming weeks.
That rumour has now been confirmed by Gordon-Levitt himself, in as far as revealing that he has been in discussions with the studio over the role.
"There are always a lot of rumours around these projects and so far it is still only discussions," says Gordon-Levitt to the French Huffington Post , seemingly confirming reports that the final decision has yet to be made by the studio.
"I am always very transparent when it comes to my roles and my career. I’m usually the first to speak and communicate with my fans if something happens. If you hear nothing from me, they are just rumours."
Sounds like something could be happening happening, then, although Gordon-Levitt's comments are to vague to read too much into, and something may have been lost in translation. Directed by Wright from a script co-written with Joe Cornish, Ant-Man will open in the US on 31 July 2015, before opening in the UK on 14 August 2015.
