Johnny Depp is Whitey Bulger in new Black Mass spot
A new TV spot has appeared online for Black Mass, Scott Cooper's crime drama about legendary gangster Whitey Bulger. And from the looks of this latest footage, Johnny Depp is going to give us all nightmares with his performance as the murderous kingpin.
The film will chart Bulger’s dual career as a vicious criminal and FBI informant, with Joel Edgerton co-starring as the bureau handler charged with the thankless task of keeping him on the leash. Easier said than done, as it turns out…
Check out the new spot, below…
It’s nice to see Depp changing it up from the conveyor belt of quirky eccentrics he’s tended to be drawn to over the past decade or so, with his Bulger looking a genuinely terrifying creation. Co-starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Dakota Johnson and Kevin Bacon, Black Mass will open in the US on September 18 2015 and the UK on November 27 2015.
