Transcendence has released a new teaser poster online, featuring the back of Johnny Depp’s bonce connected to some technical-looking wires…
This is of course meant to represent the way in which Depp’s consciousness is transferred into a computer in the film, after his physical body is attacked by militant anti-technology activists.
However, blurring the lines between man and machine has some unexpected consequences, and it isn’t long before the “new intelligence” referenced by the tagline here is threatening all of humanity.
The new poster teases the silly-over-reaching-scientist angle rather nicely, although what's with all of these over-the-shoulder posters recently. Whatever happened to a nice head-shot?
Directed by Wally Pfister and co-starring Rebecca Hall, Morgan Freeman and Cillian Murphy, Transcendence will open in the UK on 25 April 2014.
