Johnny Depp eyeing Sleeping Dogs
Looking to join Kathryn Bigelow's next
Johnny Depp is looking to risk life and limb by adding yet another film to his already rammed schedule with drama Sleeping Dogs .
What would make him do such a thing? One name: Kathryn Bigelow. Having grabbed herself an Oscar for Best Director at this year’s Academy Awards - not to mention a couple more for her crew - Bigelow is hot stuff right now.
Even Tom Hanks wants in on the action, as he’s also in talks to join the film – which, confusingly, is also being called Triple Frontier by various sources.
Written by Bigelow and co-writer Mark Boal, the film follows five men working in the triple frontier border zone between Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. There, organised crime and terrorism run rife.
Clearly these five roles are much-coveted, hence Depp and Hanks’ keen interest. Will either of them get lucky?
Bigelow’s hoping to shoot in February, which could cause a clash for Depp, who’s meant to be filming Dark Shadows then. Whatever happens, this could get very interesting...
