Joel Edgerton will Kill Bin Laden
Signs on to Kathryn Bigelow’s next
Animal Kingdom actor Joel Edgerton has been drafted in to head up Kathryn Bigelow’s next war-themed drama, Kill Bin Laden .
The Hurt Locker director, who won an Oscar for that film, has been planning her Bin Laden opus for a while.
With that topic suddenly becoming white hot, the project is moving rapidly forward, with Edgerton cast in the lead role.
He’ll play a special operative who’s part of a band of male commandos on a mission to take Bin Laden out after the 9/11 attacks.
The script by writer Mark Boal has apparently been tweaked to fit with recent events, with the original take depicting the mission as unsuccessful.
What with the recent death of Osama Bin Laden, Boal has rewritten the script to culminate in a 40-minute fight that climaxes when Bin Laden is killed.
Kill Bin Laden is expected to shoot this summer. After Edgerton’s riveting turn in Aussie drama Animal Kingdom , we can’t wait to see the results of a team up with Bigelow.
