Jesse Eisenberg stars in first trailer for Now You See Me: watch now

The first trailer has emerged online for Now You See Me , in which Jesse Eisenberg and a posse of do-gooding magicians play Robin Hood through a series of elaborately staged bank jobs.

Eisenberg stars alongside Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco as a quartet of magicians who use their shows as a cover for their theft, before redistributing their ill-gotten gains to their stunned audience.

However, such altruism comes at a cost, and it isn’t long before Mark Ruffalo’s FBI man and Melanie Laurent’s Interpol agent are on the gang’s case…

Take a look at the trailer, below…

There seems to be a lot going on here, with the film coming off as a kind of mash-up of The Prestige and Ocean’s Eleven , with some hefty doses of action thrown in for good measure.

However, with a cast this strong (there’s support from Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman), we’re confident the various strands can be brought together into a satisfying whole.

Directed by Louis Leterrier, Now You See Me opens in the UK on 21 June 2013.
