Jennifer Lawrence drops The Rosie Project for Darren Aronofskys next indie film?
Jennifer Lawrence could be about to team up with Darren Aronofsky, with Variety reporting that the actress has entered talks to star in an untitled indie film which the Black Swan director hopes will become his next project. However, her involvement looks to have come at a cost, with Lawrence officially having dropped out of Richard Linklater’s adaptation of The Rosie Project.
Lawrence also recently departed an adaptation of Jeannette Walls’ memoir The Glass Castle, although she is still involved in that project as a producer. It seems as though the star has been clearing the decks for something exciting, and judging by reports, it could be the chance to work with Aronofsky.
No details have been supplied regarding the nature of the film, which is currently without a distributor, but it is understood that the director has begun reaching out to actors ahead of a potential spring start date. With Lawrence’s The Hunger Games commitments about to come to an end, an indie project with an Oscar-nominated director might be just the thing she’s looking for.
