Jennifer Garner gets funny in Butter trailer: watch now
“God bless America”
The first trailer for Jennifer Garner’s competitive sculpture-making movie Butter has been unveiled, and it’s a darkly humorous hoot.
Garner plays Laura Pickler, a butter sculptor entering a prestigious competition in Iowa.
However, her plans for domination are rocked by the emergence of a new talent in young adopted girl Destiny (Yara Shahidi), whose creations threaten to put Pickler in the shade.
Check out the trailer below…
With its quirky sense of humour ( Schindler’s List … in butter?), Butter looks like a cross between Election (fiercely competitive leading lady) and Drop Dead Gorgeous (campaign videos, shaky doc footage).
“I’d like to remind you what this contest is about,” preaches Pickler with grave seriousness. “It’s about excellence in butter. God bless America.”
Meanwhile, Olivia Wilde is almost unrecognisable as a tattooed, leather-wearing stripper – and looks like she could steal the show from Garner.
Butter is yet to receive an official UK release date.
