If Marvel are looking for some stunt casting in their next round of superhero projects, Jean-Claude Van Damme has made it known that he’s ready and willing to join in the fun.
Van Damme has responded to comments from Chris Hemsworth saying that he’d like to star opposite the Belgian action legend, expressing an interest in a number of Marvel properties he’d be keen on.
“I read that Chris Hemsworth would like me to co-star in The Avengers 2 ,” said JCVD on Facebook. "It would be fun to play one of these types of amazing comic book characters again. By the way, I am a big fan of Marvel's superhero Silver Surfer and also another heroic fictional character known as Doc Savage - the Man of Bronze!
With The Fantastic Four soon to be rebooted by Josh Trank, perhaps there will be room for JCVD to realise his dream after all. Has Avengers 2 found its Thanos? The possibilities are endless.
The Fantastic Four will open in the US on 6 March 2015, with The Avengers 2 following on 1 May 2015. With or without Van Damme…
