Jason Statham talks Fast & Furious 7
Will shoot it back-to-back with The Expendables 3
If you've already seen Fast & Furious 6 (and if you haven't, here be SPOILERS) then you'll have seen the very brief appearance made by Jason Statham at the film's close, setting up events to come in Fast & Furious 7 .
Statham has now revealed a few nuggets of info about how his character will fit into the forthcoming sequel, and has questioned the notion that he will be playing an out-and-out villain.
"I'm gonna do what I do," says Statham to ComingSoon.net . "Obviously we're trying to work out now what angle to come from. Some people say, 'Wait, are you gonna be the villain? The guy who threatens the world and wants to blow everything up?' No."
Statham does go on to suggest that his character will be an antagonist, being the brother of Luke Evans' character and all, but it sounds as though there's going to be more to the situation than straightforward villainy.
Meanwhile, Statham has revealed that the new film will not impede his Expendables 3 commitments, with the two projects set to film back-to-back.
"I'm gonna be able to do the two back-to-back," says Statham. "It's great to have two ensemble pieces where the weight's not on my shoulders. I'm just gonna have a little fun and enjoy myself."
Fast & Furious 7 will open in the US on 11 July 2014, with a UK date to be confirmed.
