He’s adapting and may direct a blackly comic novel
Looks like Jason Reitman’s going back to Thank You For Smoking-esque territory for his next project.
Seems he’s busy adapting and planning to direct Thumbsucker novel scribe Walter Kirn’s Up In The Air. What’s it about, you ask? Well, take a pinch of the narrator from Fight Club’s musings on life as an endlessly travelling business type and mix in a pinch of Douglas Coupland and you’ve got a man who fires people for a living, hates his job but is close to the mythical level of one million frequent flyer miles. Oh, and then there’s the possible new job with the mysterious new consulting firm…
Variety is checking the emergency exits .
Meanwhile, website Shocktillyoudrop.com chatted to Reitman on the set of Jennifer’s Body, which he’s producing, and he revealed he has his own horror project bubbling away and possibly a sci-fi comedy to boost. It would appear someone’s following in his father’s footsteps more than we thought – especially since his father is the man who made Ghostbusters…
