Kick-Ass screenwriter Jane Goldman has been tapped to adapt Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children .
Based on Ransom Riggs' spooky children's book, the story follows a teenage boy who is told stories about the mysterious home of the title by his grandfather.
After his grandad pops his clogs, the lad goes off on a mission to find the abandoned institution, which has become eerily ramshackle in the years since its closure.
Goldman sounds like an ideal match with the material as the female pupils have various X-Men-esque powers like telepathy and fireproof hands (she co-wrote X-Men: First Class ), and she has most recently penned Daniel Radcliffe spooker The Woman In Black .
The inventiveness of her screenplays not only ensured that she lost the 'Mrs Jonathan Ross' tag very quickly, it also guaranteed we'd keep a close eye on whatever she did in the future.
The Woman In Black opens on 10 February 2012.
