Jamie Foxx in line for Annie remake
In talks to play Daddy Warbucks role
Will Gluck’s remake of Annie could be set to add Jamie Foxx to its ranks, with THR reporting that the star is in talks to take on the Daddy Warbucks role.
The production already has Beasts Of The Southern Wild star Quvenzhané Wallis in the title role, with Foxx in line to play a renamed version of Warbucks called “Benjamin Stacks”.
Because he has stacks of money, see? The Warbucks character is the kindly old benefactor who takes orphan Annie into his care, giving him something to spend all his cash on.
Directed by Gluck, the film will be set in the present day and will be produced by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith through their Overbrook Entertainment company.
As to whether we’ll get another version of Hard Knock Life , we can only wait and see. Jay-Z and Kanye, feat. Beyoncé? We wouldn’t be surprised…
