Jamie Dornan will play Christian Grey in Fifty Shades Of Grey
Steps in for Charlie Hunnam
50 Shades Of Grey has had to move quickly to replace the departed Charlie Hunnam as leading man Christian Grey, and sure enough, a substitute has been found in the form of Jamie Dornan.
Best known for his work as family man / serial killer Paul Spector in BBC drama The Fall , Dornan will play sadomasochistic billionaire Grey opposite Dakota Johnson's Anastasia Steele, according to a report by Variety .
A former underwear model, Dornan certainly has the sexy under control, while his unnerving turn in The Fall suggests he'll bring some serious dramatic chops to the table too.
Meanwhile, THR has an interesting casting snippet, with writer Borys Kit revealing that the part of Steele's best friend was offered to Juno Temple, only for the young star to give it a swerve. Frank Grillo was also wanted for a supporting role, but he apparently he wasn't too wasn't keen.
Still, Sam Taylor-Johnson now has a leading couple again, with production to begin imminently on the project. Fifty Shades Of Grey will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
