Jamie Bell talks Irvine Welsh's Filth
Filming commences early next year
Fresh from working with Steven Spielberg on Tintin , Jamie Bell is set to film Filth , a big-screen adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s novel.
Excited? So is Bell.
Speaking to The Independent , he said, “That’s going to be great. I don’t like to be pigeon-holed. You always want to do something different and I’m very lucky that I have had those kinds of opportunities”.
He commented on co-star James McAvoy, who plays lead character Bruce Robertson, describing his character as “great”.
Filth will be directed by Jon S. Baird, and is about a drug-addled cop who hallucinates his way through the festive season in an attempt to secure a promotion and win back his family. Trainspotting author Welsh will be producing.
Bell's come a long way since Billy Elliot ...
He will next be seen in Man on a Ledge , alongside Sam Worthington, which opens in January 2012.
