Jackie Earle Haley to play The Thinker in Suicide Squad?
Suicide Squad could be about to add yet another name to its sprawling ensemble, with El Mayimbe claiming that Jackie Earle Haley is in line to play The Thinker.
For those not familiar with the comic-books, The Thinker is a villain who first appeared in The Flash, a former DA turned criminal with a flair for meticulous planning.
Apparently the role had previously been offered to Geoffrey Rush, only for the Oscar-winner to turn it down. Now it seems that Haley is the clear frontrunner to take the part.
Haley is no stranger to the world of comic-book movies having made quite the impression as Rorschach in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen adaptation, itself another ensemble piece.
Directed by David Ayer and co-starring Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney, Suicide Squad will open in the US and UK on 5 August 2016.
