Is Percy Jackson the new Spider-Man?
He’s met with Sony, but no cigar yet...
It’s been all quiet on the Spidey front after the flurry of news throughout January.
But the rumour mill's been cranking again, and yesterday reports hit that Logan Lerman, the titular star of next week’s Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief , is “in talks” to take on the rejuvenated role of Peter Parker.
Columbia Pictures have swiftly stifled the jibber-jabber, stating that while Lerman has been in meetings with Sony, he is not “in talks” for the part.
What does Lerman have to say about it all?
Well... “It’s just, you know, conversations are starting. It’s a long process with the studio and the producers and everything.
“But it’s definitely a project that I’m really interested in, of course. I’d love to focus on the human element a little bit more. It’d be such a fun experience.”
Evidently he’s keen to take on the role, and even if Columbia have denied everything, that’s par for the course this early in the game. Until a dotted line is signed, they can’t release anything official.
