Is Warzone down?
All the details you need to know on if the Call of Duty Warzone servers are down
If you're asking 'Is Warzone down?' then something has almost certainly gone wrong, but what? It's often a guessing game with Raven Software's battle royale game, where no one is really sure what the problem is, or how long it'll be until it's fixed.
That's where Warzone error codes come in. While they might not offer up an obvious solution right away, they do explain the causes of the issue if you know where to look, so you can check your issue against our list of error codes to see if there's any solution to the problem keeping you out of the game.
If none of these details help you, then you might be looking at a server queue issue. These are common situations at the beginning of a hefty new update for Warzone, when more people are trying to enter the game than the servers can handle. Read on for all you need to know about the current state of Call of Duty: Warzone.
Is Call of Duty Warzone down?
At the time of writing, on December 8, Call of Duty: Warzone is currently down. However, unlike the instances where we don't know what's causing the game to be taken offline, developer Raven Software has publicly stated that Warzone will be down until later today, when the brand new Caldera map launches in the battle royale game. In other words, this is a scheduled period of maintenance for Warzone, so all you need to do is sit tight.
Right now though, you should absolutely be following the official Activision customer support Twitter feed. Alongside replying to direct questions about the game and support for reporting bugs, this account will also tweet out whenever the servers are facing widespread issues. They haven't tweeted anything about the servers being down at the time of writing.
If you can't see anything there, make sure you check the Activision Call of Duty Warzone server status page too. If everything is working smoothly, it should have a green tick and say "All Platforms: Online". From there, you can also click on the individual platform icons to see if it's a network problem with PlayStation, Xbox One, or Battle.net.
Finally – as always – there's DownDetector.com. This is a third party service that you can check to see if anyone else has been experiencing trouble connecting to Call of Duty Warzone, along with a chart showing recent issues across the world.
Usually, we'd recommend cross referencing all three services and if none of them show the servers as being down, there's a chance the issue is on your end. In which case, we'd recommend restarting your machine, followed by your router. Still having trouble? Check if you can connect to web pages and if you can't, contact your internet service provider.
