Is BBC Planning A Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Docu-drama?
Does BBC job ad give a clue to one of the celebratory shows the Corporation has planned?
A new job ad run by the BBC seems to suggests that the BBC may be planning a Doctor Who docu-drama as part of the Doctor Who 50th anniversary celebrations, speculates Doctor Who News .
The ad is looking for a new producer, with a "passion for drama and a knowledge of Doctor Who ," and a knowledge of period drama. The job would be based at the new Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff Bay for a five-month term on a one-off project.
The ad also reveals:
• “You will be producing high-quality, cost-effective drama”
• “Ideally the successful candidate will have a wide-ranging knowledge of the television drama production processes, preferably including period drama and use of CGI.”
So, what do we reckon? A drama based on the creation and early years of Doctor Who ? The Beeb certainly seems fond of ’60s-set dramatisations these days, what with all those biographies of ’60s TV and media stars (Morcambe & Wise, Hughie Green, Jean Shrimpton etc).
Who could play Verity Lambert? Or William Hartnell? Suggestions below!
