Iron Man 3 director says he "wanted the Black Widow" movie, promises it’s in the works
For almost as long as there's been an MCU, there's been talk about Black Widow getting her own movie. It just makes sense, she's a popular character, Scarlett Johansson is very talented, and almost every other Avenger (sorry Hawkeye) has their own movie. But for some reason, it just hasn't happened yet.
Naturally, when I went to the London premiere of The Nice Guys I just had to grill director Shane Black about whether he might do another Marvel movie. After some umm-ing and ahh-ing, the Iron Man 3 director admitted that he'd have actually really liked to have done the Black Widow movie.
Watch from 0.46 in the video below to catch him talking about it...
Well, Shane Black seems to think it's a done deal that "Kevin and the gang" are going to make the Black Widow movie happen and that "it's going to be great", but the rest of us are still waiting for official confirmation. Fingers crossed.
Directed by Shane Black and starring Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling, and Angourie Rice, The Nice Guys is out in the US now and hits UK cinemas June 3, 2016.
