Iranian action game 'Garshasp' reportedly finished, may be released internationally

The Republic of Iran hasn't contributed much to the gaming industry since its obscure sci-fi MMO, Asmandez, but apparently we've been overlooking an in-development actionadventure gamecalled ‘Garshasp.' This trailer, which was released a few months ago, caught our eye due to recent media attention, and it doesn't look bad:

Garshasp is a monster hunter who seeks revenge for the death of his brother against the evil Deevs, but finds that there is more at stake in this conflict than family honor. Centered on themes of Persian mythology, Garshasp will offer a unique take on the ancient stories of the Middle East, and lots of blood and combos to boot. Judging from the trailer, it will also be taking more than a few cues from God of War and Prince of Persia.

Due to trade sanctions, Garshasp's developer has only been able to use open-source software, and is restricted to PC development. The status of the project is currently unclear, but as of the last update, international distribution was still being negotiated, and the game was still in development. According to Megamers, however, the game is complete.

You can visit Garshasp's official site here.
