Is Doom still cool? Whatever, I still like it. It's one of those games I can always go back to and enjoy, but unfortunately Doom on the iPhone absolutely sucks and thus I can't take it with me wherever I go... but wait, what's this? Doom II RPG? Yes thanks!

If you've never played a Doom RPG, the concept is rather simple. It's a turn-based first-person-shooter featuring all your favorite Doom characters. It's actually pretty awesome, too, and manages to fill a Doom-shaped hole without terrible accelerometer controls.

As its name implies, there are plenty of roleplaying elements, like the combat being turn-based despite its first-person-shooter look. Enemies and the player take turns walking and acting around levels for a pleasantly seamless transition between exploration and combat. The player also gets to level up, and raise his stats with minigames and recovered equipment.

It's not the greatest game in the world, but with some cool monster designs and surprisingly fun gameplay, Doom II RPG is a game that fans of the old id shooter might enjoy. I certainly like it anyway, and that's the main thing!
