So just who is the mysterious Inquisitor Marrok in Ahsoka? The shadowy new villain has played a big part of the opening three episodes of the Star Wars spin-off so far, but we still know very little about him. Of course, that hasn't stopped the theories from speculating as the Inquistor has been linked with everyone from Ezra Bridger to a niche games character.

Who is the Inquisitor Marrok in Ahsoka?
The Inquisitor in Ahsoka is named Marrok, but beyond that, we know very little about this mysterious new foe.
Thanks to an official character description on StarWars.com, though, we have a few tantalizing glimpses at the villain's true nature. "Once an Inquisitor hunting Jedi for the Empire, the mysterious Marrok now works as a mercenary hired by Morgan Elsbeth to carry out dark deeds," reads the description. "Fully encased in battered battle armor, the warrior still carries a red double-bladed saber with a circular hilt."
Marrok carries an Inquisitor's signature weapon – a Darth Maul-style double bladed red lightsaber, but with that distinctive circle hilt. We've seen Inquisitors in live-action before in Obi-Wan Kenobi, including the Grand Inquisitor, who was a major antagonist in Star Wars Rebels season 1. They've also popped up in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and Ahsoka Tano duels one in the animated show Tales of the Jedi.
Inquisitors are dark siders who hunt down surviving Jedi on the orders of the Empire. They were thought to be pretty much gone by the time of A New Hope (after all, Tarkin thinks Darth Vader is the last surviving Force user), rendered pointless thanks to the Empire's belief that all the Jedi were dead. This makes Marrok's appearance in Ahsoka all the more fascinating.
Have we seen the Inquisitor Marrok in Star Wars before?
Marrok is an all new character, meaning the Inquisitor has never popped up in the Star Wars saga before... that we know of, anyway. That leaves their path wide open for the future – anything could happen to this newcomer as the series goes on.
Inquisitor Marrok identity theories
As you'd expect, theories about who is under that helmet are flying. One popular theory is that Marrok is none other than Ezra Bridger. It makes a lot of sense, since Marrok is the name of one of King Arthur's knights who was turned into a werewolf by a witch in league with Morgan le Fay. Ezra has a strong connection to Loth-wolves, as seen in Star Wars Rebels (and there's wolf symbolism to be found in Shin Hati and Baylan Skoll's names, too), and Morgan Elsbeth is a descendant of the Nighsisters of Dathomir, so she's a witch named Morgan. Convincing, right?
Then there's a theory that Marrok is Galen Marek, AKA Starkiller, who was Darth Vader's secret apprentice in the now non-canon The Force Unleashed video games. Starkiller was voiced by Sam Witwer, who has an additional voices credit in Ahsoka. Now, a caveat that Witwer is a prolific Star Wars voice actor who often contributes like this to various projects... but it's still a pretty weird coincidence, right? Then there's the similarity between the names Marrok and Marek. Plus, having the apprentice of Vader fight with Ahsoka, the apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, would be a powerful parallel.
In episode 3, we finally heard Marrok's voice too, and it has left some viewers even more convinced about the Witwer connection.
Another theory, though, is that Marrok is actually... just Marrok. Who knows, maybe he is an all new character? Only time will tell.
Who is playing Inquisitor Marrok in Ahsoka?
Paul Darnell is credited as the man inside Inquisitor Marrok's suit – he's a stunt performer who has worked on The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett before, meaning it's unlikely he's who we'll see when (or if) Marrok is unmasked.
What is the Inquisitor Marrok doing in Ahsoka?
So far, we haven't seen much of Marrok. The character can be spotted lingering in the background in Ahsoka episode 1 and duels the former Jedi in episode 2. Then in Ahsoka episode 3, Marrok joins Shin Hati in an impressive space battle against Ahsoka and Sabine Wren. We also finally got to hear them speak as well, even if all the heavily modulated voice said was, "As you wish" and "nothing."
What is very clear, though, is he is helping Morgan Elsbeth, Baylan Skoll, and Shin to find Grand Admiral Thrawn. And, thanks to the trailers, we know Ahsoka and Marrok will clash lightsabers at least one more time.
