I Got Next: Sonic's creator returns on Wii U
Yuji Naka hasn't made us a game in quite a long time now. The co-creator of Sonic the Hedgehog had an interesting run on Nintendo Wii with the delightfully difficult Ivy the Kiwi and Let's Tap, the only game with an amazing theme song whose box doubled as a controller, but he's been largely quiet since releasing Fishing Resort in 2011. He's been working that whole time, though, namely on an action game that blends his most famous work at Sega. Rodea the Sky Soldier, out this month on Wii U, mixes the aerial acrobatics of Nights Into Dreams, the dashing speed of Sonic, and the catastrophically bad controls of Sonic Adventure. We're going to guide you through the ins and outs of Rodea the Sky Soldier as well as Yuji Naka's career with Attract Mode's Matt Hawkins, a Sega expert and cultural curator for the world of gaming. I Got Next is live at 3:30PM ET/12:30PM PT every Tuesday.
