Les Misérables has revealed a second poster (following the first one that paid homage to the original musical ), and this one focuses squarely on Hugh Jackman’s not un-handsome face.

The Australian actor, who has been re-sharpening his claws for The Wolverine , fronts the new one-sheet as redemption-seeking prisoner Jean Valjean.

Jackman has considerable stage experience, but Les Mis will be the first film that shows off his warbling to the full.

Based on the West End musical smash (itself adapted from Victor Hugo’s novel), the film version has an army of dedicated fans to please.

And with Jackman and co-stars singing live on set (as opposed to pre-recording in a studio and lip-synching later) the pressure’s on.

Check out the poster in full below:

Les Misérables opens in the UK on 11 January 2013 (it’s getting a Christmas Day 2012 release in the US).
