As you may have heard, a new Doomsday-sized Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer landed online earlier this week, and the reception has been decidedly mixed. While the trailer does a lot right when it comes to teasing the inevitable confrontation between the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel, there is a general consensus that far too much footage was revealed. Indeed, as one fan stated on Reddit: "It's basically like I watched the movie already".
To be more specific, the inclusion of Doomsday and the reveal of DC's trinity teaming up to fight the monster at the end of the promo is a detail many would have preferred not to have been shown before watching the film. One YouTube user has taken it upon himself to edit said details out of the trailer, and the result appears to be a far more agreeable promo. Check it out below...
The goal with any trailer is to get people excited with the least amount of footage possible, and while it was admittedly squeal-inducing to see the first ever live-action group shot of DC's trinity, a lot of fans felt there was no need for it to be included as the promise of a fight between Batman and Superman is excitement enough. Here's hoping Snyder and co have more surprises in store for the highly anticipated superhero smackdown, and that they won't be unveiled before the film's release.
