HOT TOPIC We Want Your Thoughts On Franchise Reboots
Let us know what you think of things like the new RoboCop movie and you could be immortalised in SFX
Calling all those with strong opinions about franchise reboots - we know you've got stuff to say on this one!
With the new-fangled RoboCop hitting cinemas (check out our review here ), we can't think of a better time to find out your views on reinvented franchises. RoboCop is just the latest reboot of a valued original; in recent years we've had Man Of Steel , X-Men: First Class and The Amazing Spider-Man , and we'll soon see new takes on The Terminator , Mad Max and Batman. On TV we've got the likes of The Tomorrow People and Teen Wolf .
But are they necessary? Do they display a lack of ambition and invention? Or do they bring fresh, invigorating ideas to old material? In some cases are they actually better than the original, taking advantage of the advances in special effects technology? Are people too ready to slag off reboots just because they're reboots? Let us know what you think and we'll print the best responses in SFX 247, on sale Wednesday 2 April.
You can either leave a comment below, email us at [email protected] (marking your email HOT TOPIC), tweet us at @sfxmagazine , using the hashtag #sfxhottopic, join us on Facebook or, if the Royal Mail’s your bag, send an actual physical letter to SFX , Future Publishing, 30 Monmouth Street, Bath, BA1 2BW, UK.
We want your opinions on other stuff too! Feel free to write to us about Peter Capaldi's new costume, Agents Of SHIELD , sci-fi at the Oscars, the sad death of Philip Seymour Hoffman, the latest SFX specials, and pretty much anything else that takes your fancy. Your name could become SFX ink...
