Hot Topic: Jim Carrey and Kick-Ass 2 (see your name in SFX!)

Share your opinions on Kick-Ass and Jim Carrey's recent announcement with SFX readers and see your comments immortalised in the pages of a future print edition!

If you’re a regular reader you’ll know there’s a section in our magazine’s letters pages now called Hot Topic . It’s a way for us to take the pulse of Planet SFX on one of the burning issues of geekdom…

THIS MONTH: Jim Carrey recently tweeted that, following the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown , he would not now be publicising Kick-Ass 2 , in which he stars as Colonel Stars and Stripes. Is Big Jim right to do this? Is it an honourable stand for the gun control he believes in? Or is it hypocritical considering he already made the film and was paid for it? What about the Kick-Ass universe itself - is it unacceptably violent? Was the late Roger Ebert correct when he called the first film morally repugnant ? Or is Kick-Ass the most exciting thing to have happened to the superhero genre in years? We want YOUR opinions, short or long!
