Why you can trust 12DOVE
Though it sounds atrocious, this British found-footage chiller starts off more intriguing than the usual Night In The Woods .
On a country weekend away, caught (for the usual reasons) on camera, two couples discover the legend of a vengeful monk and his haunted hanging tree - a surprisingly spooky conceit straight out of M.R. James (although the Dunwich setting is a nod to H.P. Lovecraft).
Shame, then, that proceedings switch from quietly creepy to loudly exasperating as relationship woes replace scares, the early promise proving a largely empty threat.
