Here's your first look at Justice League's Mera: scales, a crown, and killer shoulder pads
After seeing many shots of the headlining heroes, at long last we've got a first look at Justice League's Mera. There's a main shot of the character as played by Amber Heard and several concept pieces too, check 'em out below:
That first still was taken on set by Zack Snyder. With the film having recently wrapped its UK portion of production, the cast and crew have relocated to Iceland to get shots of Aquaman's homeland. That includes Heard's Queen of Atlantis, who looks similar to her New 52 comic book counterpart: a low-cut, tight-fitting top half, green scales, and a sparkly gold crown. Those shoulder pads are what really does it for me. Used right they could be absolutely lethal.
It's expected that Heard's queen will only play a minor supporting role in Justice League - that makes sense as the movie is already stuffed with characters. She'll step up for a bigger part in the Aquaman solo outing, however, so we'll be getting to see more of her (and hopefully those shoulder pads!) in action come 2018.
Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, J.K. Simmons, Willem Dafoe, Amber Heard, Ezra Miller, and Ray Fisher, Justice League is currently scheduled for a November 17, 2017 release.
