Ryan Reynolds officially announces Deadpool's Blu-Ray release date
Few could have predicted the box office success of Deadpool - it's now the highest R-rated film of all time - and soon we'll be able to rewatch the foul-mouthed delight in the comfort of our homes (but probably not with the family).
Ryan Reynolds has been the film's chief spokesperson from day one, and he took to his Twitter page to announce that Deadpool will be available to own on Blu-Ray (and VHS & Laserdisc) on May 10. Check out his typically hilarious tweet below...
I'm coming… on Blu-ray MAY 10. Also, non-existent special edition VHS and LaserDisc, 19 years ago. pic.twitter.com/WE28cJbW1GApril 1, 2016
In addition to the Blu-Ray announcement, director Tim Miller has revealed that his wife Jennifer Miller and Creative Director Norn Jordan had thought up multiple ideas for Deadpool's end credits:
"There was a 1980s version of the titles, you know a Knight Rider-style version", Miller told Art of the Title. "They pitched doing our own version of the Honest Trailers, where the guys go in and tell you everything that was wrong with the movie. I loved that idea! We actually wanted to get the guy who does them to do an Honest Trailers version of Deadpool and run it during the titles. I can’t wait until they do one! [laughs]". Sounds like this would make for a great special feature on the Blu-Ray...
Directed by Tim Miller and starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller and Gina Carano, Deadpool will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray May 10, 2016.
