Guillermo del Toro's second Hellboy flick opens in UK cinemas this week and fans can get an additional fix of their favourite red-skinned hero by taking a closer look at his oversized "Samaritan" revolver that's on display at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.
The Hellboy tale has it that the Samaritan is fashioned from melted church bells and contains fragments of the True Cross. In real life the world-famous Weta Workshop of New Zealand made it. The revolver features in both Hellboy films and it's on display as part of Leeds' free "Arms & Armour from the Movies: The Wonderful World of Weta" exhibition.
The exhibition also boasts more than 230 items from other films such as The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia - the show runs until 16 November and you can check out Aragorn’s sword and one of the plane-mounted guns that killed King Kong amongst others. Many of the props have never been displayed in public before.
