Hayley Atwell has revealed that she will be making an appearance in Avengers: Age Of Ultron , with Joss Whedon having apparently written Peggy Carter into the script.
According to Atwell, this all came about thanks to a boozy night on the tiles with Whedon, who decided he wanted to have a crack at writing for her character.
“We went out drinking one night,” says Atwell, “and he was like, ‘You know, it would be great to write something for you.’ And I was like, ‘Yes, Joss, it would! It would be amazing!’”
Atwell’s star seems to be firmly on the up over at Marvel, with a standalone Agent Carter TV series also on the way next year. Atwell didn’t reveal how Peggy will be worked into the Avengers storyline, but we’re sure Whedon has a few ideas up his sleeve…
Co-starring the original cast, with additional support from Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and James Spader, Avengers: Age Of Ultron will open in the UK on 24 April 2015.
