Hayley Atwell says Agent Carter series will be 8 episodes long
Describes fan enthusiasm as “surreal and humbling”
Hayley Atwell has confirmed that the new Agent Carter series will be eight episodes long, with ABC planning to use the show to bridge Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. ’s winter hiatus.
“It’s surreal and humbling that the character that you played four years ago, when you’ve done other jobs in other genres, calls you back,” said Atwell of the show’s greenlit status.
“I feel like there’s a responsibility to make sure she’s what everyone wants her to be,” she continues. “Fans have seen her being capable, being sexy, being a femme fatale, and they want to see something more, they want to see the complexities… what makes her tick.”
“I think over the arc of the eight episodes, there will be different facets to who she is, which won’t disappoint the fans. There are many different ideas behind who she is, and I think she’s going to become more interesting.”
Agent Carter will premiere on ABC in January 2015, with a UK air date yet to be confirmed.
