Why you can trust 12DOVE
As the second Family Game Night landed on the Wii, the series made its DS debut, and this outing combines elements of the first and second Wii games. Battleship makes much more sense here than on Wii, and Connect 4 is easier to play with a stylus too. Bop It’s twists, pulls, pushes and shouts (either real into-the-mic ones or touchscreen ones) suit the DS, but Operation’s ‘guide the item along a path’ tasks are infuriating.
Two-player download play makes more sense than the TV-hogging Wii multiplayer, but despite the extra modes for each game you’re still basically paying considerable cash for four minigames.
