You've never heard of it. We don't even know what it was called. All we know is that it was an RPG, and it cost Marvelous Entertainment nearly $3 million to not make.
In its latest earnings report, Marvelous, which is best known as the publisher of the Harvest Moon and Rune Factory franchises in Japan, revealed the very large loss with nothing to show for it. The Japanese company said that costs associated to early development of the PS3 and Xbox 360 game were 245 million yen.
However, even with that loss, the company still posted an operating profit for the fiscal period in the report (April 1, 2010 to December 31, 2010). Marvelous posted a loss for the same period in 2009.
Unfortunately, it looks like the game is fully cancelled, and we may never know what it was. The company had mentioned in 2009 that it wanted to create a most sophisticated game for high-end consoles... perhaps it just bit off more than it could chew.
