Harrison Ford says Han Solo is still a rogue in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

The star of the second teaser trailer to Star Wars: The Force Awakens was undeniably Harrison Ford's Han Solo, who's singular line of dialogue - "Chewie, we're home" - was enough to reduce even the great Matthew McConaughey (and a few other people) to tears. With the film just a month away from release, more and more interviews with those involved are beginning to surface, and the latest quotes to make their way to the web come from none other than Ford himself.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the actor spoke about his return to Han Solo, stating "there’s not an abandoning of the character". "He does not aspire to the position of Ben Kenobi, nor do I aspire to be some New Age Alec Guinness. His development is consistent with the character, and there are emotional elements which have occasioned his growth", Ford continued. "We spend a lot more time on his failure to master basic skills, like accounting. And accounting for his own behaviour. There’s a lot of the rogue still left in Solo. Some things don’t change."

Of course, Han Solo is not the only iconic character Ford has inhabited during his career... "Yeah, I’d love to do another Indiana Jones. A character that has a history and a potential, kind of a rollicking good movie ride for the audience, Steven Spielberg as a director — what’s not to like?" We couldn't agree more Harry!

Directed by Abrams and starring Ford, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is released in UK cinemas on December 17 2015 before opening in US theatres a day later.
